You're probably here because you wanted to know the answer when someone asks, "What in the world is bogus jiggy??" Or you want to spread the word and be a part of history. You want to be cooler than the girl in the next cube. Make friends with the hottie on the subway. You've been given lots of lemons in life and now you want to give them back... to BogusJiggy.com.
I guess you could say bogus jiggy is from Japan. And it came from me, the Jigster, and my husband, Ninja Jigster.
See, Ninja Jigster was invited, back in 2008, to compete on the Japanese game show, Sasuke. Never heard of it? Parts of it air in America on the G4 network
under the title Ninja Warrior. Competitors on the show try to make it
through four stages of a really tough obstacle course. Almost no one
makes it past the first stage. Ninja Jigster did really well, but he
didn't make it either.
Ninja Jigster is famous in Japan!
Screen shot of Ninja Jigster on the pole maze from the Sasuke episode that aired in Japan. Unfortunately,
G4 edited Ninja Jigster OUT of the American episodes. Total bogus
jiggy!
So we were in Japan for the weekend to do this crazy
little TV thing, and while we were there, we saw a guy with a hat that
said "Bogus Jiggy." What a funny little phrase that is, we
said to one another. Once we were back in the States and recovered
from our jet lag, we decided to do some research to find out what it
was. A punk band? A clothing brand for skaters? Amazingly, it was a Googlenope. That is, "bogus jiggy" did not appear as a phrase anywhere on the Internet as far as Google could tell.
We
were inspired, bought the domain name, and didn't do a thing with it.
Fast forward a year, and I am looking for a new obsession, plus I have
this little class project to do for my master's in publishing from the George Washington University, and voila, a web site is born.
